Would you like to see the new front doors on the virtual house?

image

I rigged them for animation and gave them a test run

Hate it when Frankensteve sneaks up on me when I'm workin'.

This is a shot from the outside.
I haven't done any texturing with the window frames yet.

If inspiration comes to you visually, you’re in the right place. From inspiring tips to enlightening articles to motivational blog posts, we’re full of great design reads. But as an architect I was knowing with out the help of the installation team of impact doors and windows it can't be done.

Nicely done, Kraven!!

Yes, absolutely, I'm more than happy to see the new front doors on the virtual house!

Please do explain more about the virtual animation -- what will that entail?
I'm curious!

Yes... He does look "vexed".
That's his creation stance.
It makes it easier to put the framework (bones) in.

Yes, I'll use the house and the things in it for a variety of things.
Promos for the site.
GMO videos.
Sets for Holiday greetings.

I used the dining room table and wine bottles etc. for a Valentine's Day greeting.
It can be personalized with any name other than Rumpelstiltskin.
Too long and creepy.

That's a lot of work and creativity.
Moon Bob looks vexed!
What will happen in the house, once you are finished?
Is it an ad for the site?

I did read the EM, I think that's what you'd said.

This is a new character that I'm in the process of modeling.
No details or features, or even a torso yet.
He or she.... I haven't decided yet, is in the early raw stages of modeling.

Kinda creepy looking right now.

Thanks, Triss.

I put skeletons, or bones, into the things that I want to be able to animate.... Like the doors.
That framework can be real simple, like in the doors, but pretty complex for characters.
Think of it as a jointed wire frame in a doll.
Once weighted to the character, the bones can be posed with the corresponding body part following along.
Then animating is the same process as stop motion animation.

You pose the character in positions along a time line, and lock those positions in what's called a "Key Frame".
There are 24 frames per second in my animations.
That's a nice compromise.
Fewer and the animation looks too jerky. More would be smoother than 24, but each frame takes time to process.
Because the house is so complex, it takes my computer over 2 minutes to process one frame.
The more frames per second, the longer the processing time.
As I recall, my Stonehenge video took the better part of a week for my computer to process, working nonstop.
Cartoons are made in the same way.
Each frame the character is in a little different pose.
When run together the character follows through with the entire motion.

Here's a picture of one of my characters (Moon Bob).

image

He's in the expressionless position in which I modeled him.
The images show the bones on the inside, and the shapes on the outside that I use to manipulate the bones. (Highlighted in blue)
If I get the bones and joints positioned well in the body, his movements are pretty lifelike.
He's essentially a 3 dimensional puppet.

I guess that's about it in a nutshell.
Put'em in a set and we're off.

I would hirer you to do illustrations.
My father was an artist. I use to draw and I know you are working hard.
Good work.

A large segment of the population is like that.
They cast their vote for one party or the other and think all's well. The parties will hammer things out.
Blind political faith is how governments like Nazi Germany's come about.
People think all our guys are the good guys.
The truth is the bad guys are everywhere and you have to keep them out of power by thinking for yourself and not voting for them... Even when your favorite party says you should.
I remember when our union guys said we should vote for Reagan.... I said you're nuts.

Too many people lack the ability to figure things out for themselves. They can not think or analyze information.
Common Core promotes memorization and non thinkers.
The young educated man who works with my son knows little about the jihadist invasion to the U.S. and little about what Monsanto is doing to our food.
This young masters wants to get his masters. He maybe educated but, he is not savvy. I like him but, he actually said, I don't want to know about GM substances and Monsanto. I have to work and take more classes.
This young man and his foolish generation are why we can not force GM labeling now. He is a nice young man, but he is ignorant and foolish despite his education. He is self absorbed and short sighted. He is apathetic and prefers not to face that GM and terrorism is his problem.

We've been borrowing from China.
At the place I worked, Proctor & Gamble were the culprits.
They bought the company, then set it up for closure.
First they broke it up in pieces, housing those pieces in their existing facilities.
Then a short time later sold off all those pieces.

I feel sorry for the people that got suckered by them.
Some uprooted themselves and moved along with the pieces, only to find their piece sold off to someone else and moved again.
I don't know what it is, but when rich people talk, many listen.... Over.... and Over.... and Over again.
They never learn.

Clowns like Trump have huge followings.... Hard to figure. image image

I heard that all the recent presents gave into China's demands. They helped destroy U.S. manufacturing. I want a true leader who says no. I want our manufacturing back. Kevin O'Leary can kiss my ass. He and Monsanto can join the terrorist and the Devil in Hell.

Same here with my grandfather.
He painted billboards.
Also, my uncle painted signs for shop windows.

I doodle too.
Mostly comic type characters.

I did one newspaper ad, and some posters for Christmas parties, and a ham raffle.

I was asked by one of my employers to design the label for the last run of product before the plant closed.
That run was to be distributed to just the employees.

Since there's a collector's market for limited edition products, it was tempting to have my name on that final run, but I was ticked off that they were closing the plant and moving due to their greed and turned them down.

I'm thinking it was greed as well that prompted them to ask me instead of some commercial art firm.

My father motivated me to draw. My grandfather made signs free hand. He encouraged my art work.
I use to spend cold weekends drawing. My mother and sister drew too but, most artist starve. I choose college and realized too late I could have done both.
In high school I had a Major Art teacher who bored me to death and made me hate art class. She made everything dull. I was not mature enough to ignore her.
Now I doddle.

Your talented Kraven.

It makes me miss my father. Every time I visited he would show me his current painting.

When I was a kid, cartoonists and stop motion animators, like Ray Harryhausen, were my heroes.

Here's Ray with a couple of his models.
He worked on a lot of those mythology type movies.
You may recognize the Cyclops from "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad".

image

There's a picture of Ray stuck in the frame of the mirror in my virtual house.
I also sneaked his image into the Halloween, and Stonehenge videos.

Kind of a salute to Ray for the fun I had watching his movies.
