Genticaly modified food is the equivilent of taobacco in the 21 century. Our food supply is being posioned.
Monsanto, Con Argra, other unethical international corporation own 99% of congress, politicans, the FDA, USDA, AMA and CDC.
If the United States of America is still a constitutional republic we have a right to know what we are eatting.

Yes.... Since there are legitimate concerns regarding today's lab created food products, organisms that couldn't occur in nature, grown in open fields, and over the excessive use of herbicides associated with GMOs, consumers should have a clear choice. They shouldn't need a degree in chemistry or biology to know what they're buying.

Thanks. The link in your new e-mail worked and I signed.
I'm adding that one to this comment to see if it'll work here. If it does, I'll add that version to your question.

Thanks for posting the material. I just checked my e-mail and the link doesn't work there either.

After I'm done here, I'll copy and paste it to see what I can find.

Stand Up for Clear GMO Labels!

This is our LAST chance to fight for clear, consumer-friendly GMO labels.
The Department of Agriculture has finally released a proposed rule to implement the mandatory GMO disclosure law passed in July 2016 – and it is far from the strong, consumer-friendly disclosure for which we’ve been fighting. The proposed rule does not even clearly require that all genetically engineered ingredients be disclosed!
This proposed rule is setting the stage for Monsanto and Big Food to exploit loopholes in order to continue hiding GMO ingredients from consumers.
This is our last chance before USDA publishes the final GMO disclosure rules, and we need it to hear from you NOW!
Please use the form below to send your message to the USDA urging the agency to create a consumer-friendly GMO labeling standard.
Subject: Create a clear and consumer-friendly GMO disclosure stDear Secretary Perdue,

As an American and Just Label It supporter, I demand strong GMO disclosure rules.

I am disappointed in the proposed rule the Department of Agriculture has released, and I urge the USDA to listen to the will of consumers who simply want the same right provided in 64 countries around the world. The USDA must ensure the new law works for all Americans.

The department must require companies to:

1) Disclose all GMOs. All GMO foods – including foods with GMO ingredients like refined sugars and oils, and foods with ingredients derived from newer forms of genetic engineering like like CRISPR and RNAi – should carry GMO disclosures. The draft rule leaves open whether or not the USDA will include all GMOs, and that should not be up for debate.

2) Use the words “genetically modified” or “genetically engineered.” The proposed rule uses the term “bioengineered food” (BE), instead of “genetically modified” (GMO) or “genetically engineered” (GE), which are globally accepted terms to describe such foods. The USDA should require that mandatory GMO disclosures be made in terms that consumers understand.

3) Create clear rules for digital options. The proposed rule has limited guidelines for regulating digital or electronic disclosures. If companies decide to use a digital disclosure, there should be STRONG rules around their use – including sizing, color and material requirements – to ensure that disclosures reliably scan every time.

4) Provide options for Americans with poor cell service. Even with a USDA-funded study concluding that 20 million Americans live without adequate cell service, the proposed rule does not provide “comparable options” for these consumers, as required by the law. The text message option proposed for consumers without smartphones will not work for rural Americans who do not have adequate cell service to send or receive text disclosures, and there is no requirement that such text message disclosures be made in addition to the electronic or digital disclosure. The USDA must work with retailers to ensure that they provide scanners in every aisle for consumers who do not have smartphones if they do not require on-packet disclosures in their stores.

I am counting on the USDA, as it takes public comment on this proposed rule, to correct the issues mentioned above and ensure consumers like me get the information we need about GMOs in the simplest way possible.

I will email it to you. I copied the link I was emailed. I use it to support them and it worked on Facebook. It should work.
I had an argument with some moron on Twitter. LOL, because he attempted to tell me I did not understand the Biology. Of all the sciences Biology is the easiest to understand.
Kraven, I said I understand the science and I am well educated.
The fact is I took Bio/Genetics. I new the Biology from high school, my husband was a Chemistry/ Business major. I did fine in the Chemistry part. The Genetics made sense and its was easy to remember. The Genetic graphs and charts drove everyone insane. You need to understand how the combinations work. I actually did fine but it was tough.
I got the highest mark on the Bio/Chemistry exam of everyone in the class and the moron professor announced he was shocked because my lab work was not great. I think we disgusted this before.
