Leslie Nemo appears to be a freelance science writer that writes articles that get published in a number of science publications. So, she's not technically an employee of Futurism.
Nevertheless, nothing was mentioned in that piece regarding the excessive use of herbicides associated with GMOs (which end up in the environment) or the fact that scientists are mixing animal and plant genes, and then growing those plants in open fields. The consequences of which can't be known.
The piece also perpetuates the myth that GMOs are necessary to feed the World. They're not.
We currently have more than enough arable land to feed the World, and will have for quite some time to come.
With all the new tiered and indoor farming technologies being developed, we'll be able to produce enough to feed the World for a very, very long time.
In light of all that, in my opinion, the "Feed the World" line is an Ag Company propaganda campaign.
