I shoot straight from the hip, whether I'm being serious or joking. You can sum up my communication as Forrest Gump doing improv. :P

Haha! Trying to picture that!

If it's Eddie.... a hammer.

I don't know that I have a "style".
I think I try to tailor communication to suit the person I'm trying to communicate with.

The content is essentially the same, just the presentation, or delivery varies.

Unlike a car, I don't mind letting the other guy drive a conversation.

I think it would depend on the person and timing.
I've used both techniques.
The added "Wanna come?" may make some people, at certain times, feel pressured.
Like if the answer is no... They may almost feel required to give an explanation.
So, I guess it depends on the person, the situation, and the mood.

Hence your avid interest in Q & A websites, where others choose the topic of conversation?

Yes, I do hear you about seeking to communicate with different people in a way that suits them.

Yet, some people are naturally more direct, while others don't say exactly what they mean, but you figure it out and can infer what is asked or said, once you know the person.

For example, when I would like to go for a walk and am welcoming my husband to join me, for years I said,
"I'm heading out for a walk. Would you like to join me?"

But if my husband would like to go for a walk and he's welcoming me to join him he says,
"I going for a walk."

For him, it's implied that I'm invited and he feels/thinks that he'd be being too 'direct' in out rightly asking me to join him -- I suppose the possible 'rub' to him is if I didn't want to go, I'd have to refuse him.
But with the way he says it to me, if I don't wish to join him, I can simply tell him I hope he'll have a great walk.

After I figured this out, I now ask him if he'd like to join me for a walk in his same style of asking, though at times I do add on a clarifier, so that he knows he's welcome, yet isn't in any way 'obliged' to join me.
